Prior Lake law firm representing clients in the South Metro and throughout Minnesota

Everyone needs legal advice from time to time. Life is full of events that create a need for counsel from an attorney you can trust. But where do you find one when you have a legal matter or just a simple question? Online directories and legal self-help websites can be risky. Instead, work with an established local firm that your friends and neighbors rely on and recommend.

Located in the heart of downtown Prior Lake, the law firm of Blahnik, Prchal & Stoll serves our local community by providing quality legal services to area residents and businesses. Our attorneys all have close, personal ties to this community and are committed to building trusted and lasting relationships with our clients.

Areas of Practice

Divorce & Family Law

The term "family law" generally refers to divorce (including division of property, allocation of debts, and spousal maintenance), child custody, and child support, as well as prenuptial (antenuptial) agreements, adoption, paternity actions, and any motions or appeals related to such proceedings. Our firm practices in all these areas of family law. We seek the best solution for each client and attempt to resolve most matters in an amicable manner through informal settlement meetings or mediation. If an agreement cannot be reached, we zealously advocates for the rights of our clients in Court.

Juvenile Law

Juvenile law includes child in need of protection or services (CHIPS) proceedings, permanency proceedings that may result from the CHIPS matter, or involuntary termination of parental rights proceedings. Parents have the right to legal representation at all stages of the child protection process. Our attorneys are well-versed in juvenile law and child protection matters. We advocate for the rights of parents while also ensuring that the best interests of the child are the primary focus. We also represent relatives that wish to intervene in a child protection proceeding.

Estate Planning

Our estate planning attorneys help their clients plan for their future by asking them “Why put off until tomorrow, what you can do today?” It is estimated that over 120 million Americans do not have up-to-date estate plans to protect themselves and their family in the event of sickness, accident, or untimely death. We provide Twin Cities residents with the peace of mind by finalizing each client's estate plan while minimizing any potential tax and probate implications. Our firm will help you determine whether you need a simple will or a more complex trust to best fit your assets and wishes.

Real Estate Law

Our law firm handles a wide range of real estate law matters for clients throughout the Twin Cities and the surrounding areas. Our firm represents clients in real estate matters involving partition actions, adverse possession actions, boundary line disputes, legal help in buying and selling real estate, drafting and reviewing real estate contracts, and creating business entities for holding real estate (limited liability companies, trusts, etc.).

Probate

The loss of a loved one can be stressful and overwhelming. The probate process can oftentimes intensify and complicate matters for someone who is nominated personal representative (executor) or for someone who is a beneficiary of an estate. Our probate attorneys give personal representatives and beneficiaries peace of mind and help minimize the stress of probate by providing dedicated representation for personal representatives and beneficiaries through all states of probate proceedings.

Tribal Court

Our attorneys are licensed to practice law before the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Tribal Court (Mystic Lake Casino) in Prior Lake and before the Prairie Island Indian Community Tribal Court (Treasure Island Casino) near Red Wing. These Tribal Courts have their own sets of laws, including Domestic Relations Codes, that apply for all family law matters heard in the Tribal Court. Our firm represents both non-tribal members and tribal members in divorce proceedings, custody and child support matters, child welfare matters, conservatorship proceedings, and other legal proceedings in Tribal Court.
